Generating an API Key

Overview

As part of your integration, Modern Retail will need a Lightspeed generated API key. The steps below will take you through the process of generating an API Key.

• Log into Lightspeed > Settings > API Keys.

• Click Add New API Key in the upper right corner.

• A lightbox will open with a form to request a new API Key. Enter the Lightspeed Account Owner's e-mail address. In the message field, enter "Connect to existing website."

Open

• Hit Request API Key.

• It will take a few days for the key to be generated. You'll be notified via a confirmation e-mail that the key has been generated.

• When you receive the confirmation e-mail, please log into Lightspeed and verify the key is there. You can do this by going to Settings > API Keys. You'll see your new key listed.

• Notify your Project Manager that the Key has been generated!
