Authorize.net - Whitelist Server IP Address
Problem: Recently we had reports of shopper's not receiving confirmation emails and the order is not our back-end, but the charge is in Authorize.net. What's going on?
Resolution: Your Authorize.net account may be using Authorize.net's Transaction Velocity Filter which will limit how many transactions per hour are accepted from a given IP address. For example, this filter may be set to allow 10 transactions from a specific IP address, but more than 10 in a given time period will disallow orders from being created. Note that the transaction will be approved by your credit card processor but Authorize.net is preventing the order from being created.
Authorize.net records the transaction's IP address as your site's server IP address, not the shopper's IP address. As a result, depending on your order volume, you may be tripping the transactions per time segment limit.
We recommend you whitelist your site's IP address within Authorize.net; here's how.
Log into Authorize.net > Fraud Detection Suite
Go to Card Testing Settings > Transaction IP Velocity Filter and select it.
In the IP Address Exclusion block, enter your site's IP address and click "Add".
Click "Save" after entering your site's IP Address.
Support can provide the IP address for your site's server.
